Spectacular holiday tradition returns to Carpinteria as Curtis Studio of Dance lights up the Holiday with The Nutcracker
Curtis Studio of Dance will bring Carpinteria its most joyous holiday gift with its beloved production of The Nutcracker, the classic holiday story danced to Tchaikovsky’s beloved score. This annual holiday favorite tells the story of a young girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve, and sets out on a wondrous journey to the Land of the Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. A fantastic dream with battling mice, dancing snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the delightful Sugar Plum Fairy stir the imagination. This season’s cast features brilliant young talent from Carpinteria, most notably Logan Labistour in the role of Clara taking part in the famed holiday ballet. The performance will also feature special guest dancers Jean Michelle Sayeg, recipient of the Music Center Spotlight Award and the 2006 Lester Horton Award, as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Zachary Allen Thompson, trained actor, singer and dancer, as Herr Drosselmeyer. A dazzling holiday tradition for the entire family, see it again or for the first time and be swept away in a winter wonderland. Please join us on Friday, December 13, 2019 @ 7pm and Saturday, December 14, 2019 @ 1 PM at the Carpinteria Middle School, 5351 Carpinteria Ave. Tickets $15.00.
